ff14 Haurchefant Greystone

I managed to hang this in my newly purchased FC House in the Goblet.

Housing in FF14 has always been a sensitive topic.  I was the lucky few, who managed to transfer out of the NA server into a Japanese server just before the release of the 2nd batch of Residential Plots.
What I had on me was just over 4mil GIL.
The game was still a work in progress and GIL was hard to earn unless your crafters were like penta-melded in terms of gear.  Mine wasn't, still isn't because I believe that money must be made bit by bit from many sources.  That's how my real life is, and thats how I'm comfortable playing the game.

Luck was on my side and I managed to blow all my GIL on a small plot.  Unfortunately, my FC was not ranked high enough to purchase the land so I had to contend with the SMALL plot being a private house.  It wasn't what I wanted but we don't always get things the way we want - FOR REAL and in VIRTUAL REALITY.

Since then, and purchase of many glamour pieces, plus armor and tools for both battle and crafters and gatherers, I accumulated 9mil GIL nett.
Yoshida announced the new housing area in the next Expansion and I was willing to keep the GIL UNTIL ......the plot in front of my cottage freed up, and more plots started to free up in the different wards.  That got me on another spin - wait for STORMBLOOD or blow it all.....Since I don't like to stand on ceremony, I bought this MEDIUM plot as an FC House.

In my small private house, Haurchefant faces the door and guests will see him first, once they enter the house.
In my FC House, he's in the basement, which has been converted into a social area for guests.

Doesn't matter where he is in the home....he's the centerpiece.

**His framed picture can be purchased from Idyllshire from one of the women, probably Hismena (the middle one) with our poetics.

When he took a hit for me in-game.....I felt it.  Many gamers felt it.
I was teary when we lost him, for good.
WE didn't even get to say GOODBYE.
He wasn't a character who was distasteful before becoming our friend....he was always welcoming.  That scene, where he lost his life for me/us....was too traumatic for me to want to recall even.  I remember when it happened -
I screamed.....my hands flew to my mouth as tears started to pool in my eyes for real.

Haurchefant has become someone I will remember and want people to hold his character to high regard.  He may be a character in a game, BUT to me, he is a person I miss because people like this, have died and disappeared from our real world.

He was selfless.

Some may argue that this is virtual reality....WRONG.  I remember times gone by, where friends stood by you, through thick and thin.  Today, in the 21st C, if one is plagued with trouble, one would come across as having contracted the plague and feel pretty much alone.

By the same grain, people make movies because of some story they heard, experienced or handed down from generations......not everything is in the imagination.
To be KNIGHTLY and BRAVE and SELFLESS, is not beyond reality.

We just forgot it exists.

This is where he now rests.

He welcomed us when no one else would.
